Water is still standing in many areas, a week later. Hundreds of thousands of people are living in schools, as temporary shelters, even as school teachers are trying to get kids back to a normal schedule.

UNICEF'S Executive Director Ann Veneman just returned from a visit there.

"It's estimated they got as much as a month's rain in only about six to nine hours in Manila. Agriculture has been damaged, businesses have been damaged. The infrastructure itself has been damaged," she said.

Veneman also added that some victims lost everything.
