Keith Wesley Honeycutt, 41, awoke to find his head just inches away from the rising waters of a creek behind the Rancho Feliz Mobile Home Park on Redwood Drive, police said.

The water, six feet deep in some areas, swept away Honeycutt's tent and belongings and pinned him between thickets and the creek, police said.

Someone called police at about 9:30 a.m. to report a man stuck in the creek and Rohnert Park Public Safety Department officers and Cotati police responded.

Honeycutt's rescuers cut a path through the thickets and Honeycutt walked out uninjured.

Honeycutt refused medical treatment but was given a warning about illegal camping within Rohnert Park city limits, police said.
