Maggard was hit at about 6 p.m. Sunday in the 800 block of Sereno Drive, police said.
Maggard died of his injuries at John Muir Medical Center in Walnut Creek at 11:02 p.m. Sunday, according to the coroner's office.
Police are still investigating the accident.
