Thousands of homeowners Save the Dream

Several thousand people are finding it a bit easier to live the dream at the five day Save the Dream event at Daly City's Cow Palace.

It ended Tuesday, but not before at least 7,000 Bay Area homeowners were able to negotiate lower mortgage rates.

Distressed homeowners were united with lenders by the nonprofit Neighborhood Assistance Corporation of America. It receives federal funding and fees from lenders.

Daly City was the last stop on its current nationwide tour.
