Fallen tree knocks out power in East Bay

Strong winds are to blame for a tree that fell and knocked out power to an East Bay neighborhood on Wednesday morning.

A large tree about 100-feet tall fell onto several power lines in the Oakland Hills shortly before 2:00 a.m.

About 100 customers were affected. It happened above Highway 13 near the intersection of Merriewood Drive and Florence Terrace.

PG&E said those customers should have their power restored by now.
