The accident happened around 10:30 Monday night at 4th and Harrison streets. The driver's father says she was driving with four friends, when she heard sirens and looked behind her to see which way they were coming from. He says that is when her car was clipped by a fire engine coming the wrong way up 4th street.
"You don't expect it coming up a one-way street. I think they're really luck they didn't get killed in such a little car," he said.
No one was hurt.
Officials say the fire engine driver tested negative for drugs and alcohol. They say the engine was responding to a medical emergency and that fire vehicles are allowed to travel the wrong way when their lights and sirens are on.
