Vallejo School District to discuss closures

The Vallejo School District will hold a community meeting Tuesday night to discuss possible school closures. The school board says closing schools may be the only way to avoid bankruptcy.

The district is losing nearly $20 million due to a drop in enrollment. A rally is planned Tuesday afternoon to protest the closures.

The elementary schools at risk are Widenmann, Loma Vista and Cave Elementary. Also on the list are Springstowne and Vallejo Middle School and Hogan High School.

Tuesday's board meeting will be at Hogan High begins at 6:00 p.m.
