The 44-year-old woman was bringing the car back to the business in the 2000 block of North Texas Street at about 11:20 p.m. when five juveniles approached her, Officer Rebecca Belk said.
One opened the passenger door and demanded that the woman give him the car. The juveniles fled when the woman's ride arrived and yelled them, Belk said. She was not injured.
The woman gave police a description of the suspects and officers detained all five of them in the 2500 block of North Texas Street. They were identified as the perpetrators and were booked into juvenile hall for attempted carjacking and conspiracy, Belk said.
Two were also booked for violating their probation, Belk said.
Their names have been withheld because of their age.
