Report: more Californians should go on food stamps

SACRAMENTO, CA The non-profit California Budget Project says fewer than half the people in the state who could qualify for food stamps, actually receive them. That's the second lowest participation rate in the country, after Wyoming. The report claims, if more Californians were on the federal food stamp program, it would help the state's economy because the poor would have more money to spend.
