Cell phone companies want to tap airwaves

Wireless phone companies are trying to reduce the strain on their networks by acquiring more frequencies.

They are asking the government to give them access to portions of the airwaves currently used by TV stations, satellite companies and even the Pentagon.

Analysts say those groups are not likely to give up without a fight, but the chairman of the FCC says heis committed to finding more frequencies for the wireless industry.
