The city will warn employees not to wear scented products. That includes colognes, after-shaves, perfumes, lotions and even deodorants. Scented candles and air fresheners are also no-no's.
Why the new rule? Detroit news outlets say it stems from a federal lawsuit by a city employee who said a colleague's perfume made it hard for her to do her job. She won a $100,000 settlement.
