There is speculation Republican gubernatorial candidate Meg Whitman may run out of campaign funds as soon as this week.

Whitman has already donated $39 million to her campaign, which is a state record for self funding.

Campaign finance reports the former eBay CEO may run out of funds this Thursday and need to make another cash deposit if she keeps spending like she has since the first of the year.

Meanwhile, GOP rival Steve Poizner has written checks for $19 million to his own campaign, but still has a lot of it left.
