Neighbors appeal Hindu temple's expansion plans

Those seeking to triple the size of the Hindu temple in Livermore pressed their case Friday amid complaints from neighbors.

The plans call for adding 31,000 square feet to the Hindu Community Cultural Center. It is now just over 18,000.

Those living close by say they get trapped in their driveways during large events, and fear that larger facilities will mean bigger problems.

The Livermore Planning Commission has approved the expansion, but neighbors have appealed and the City Council will take up the matter May 10.
