The Assembly judiciary committee approved the bill Tuesday.
It would require all children under 18 to wear helmets while skiing and snowboarding.
It would also require ski resorts to make annual safety plans, and report on the monthly numbers of deaths and injuries.
Right now, California ski resorts are not required to publicly release that information.
