They were wrapping up a tour of California when their flight home was cancelled and were stuck in the Bay Area for more than a week.
The Athenian School in Danville gave them a place to stay, but the students were desperate to get home for their university entrance exams.
Someone at the British consulate saw the story on TV and arranged for them to fly home Sunday.
