CHP officers have found the car near the Greyhound station on Lemon Street.
The CHP said it all started when an officer stopped a woman for a possible traffic infraction on Pine Street around 10 a.m.
The woman ran away, but the officer caught and handcuffed her. She was then placed in the front seat of the patrol car -- the suspect managed to slide over and drive away.
Officers found the woman near where the car was abandoned.
