SF Jazz unveiled its $60 million plan for a state of the art facility near the Civic Center.
Designers say it will be America's first stand alone facility built exclusively for jazz.
The building will include a concert hall that seats 700 people, practice rooms, a digital recording studio, and a cafe.
It will replace an auto repair shop that currently stands at Franklin and Fell streets.
