3 shot near Antioch High School

ANTIOCH, CA

The shooting happened just after 3 p.m. near L Street and Sycamore Drive and all the victims are expected to survive.

Lt. Scott Willerford said a group of individuals who are not Antioch students or residents had been in front of Antioch High School and began walking on L Street toward Sycamore Drive.

A dispute developed amongst the group's members, who pulled out guns and began shooting at each other, Willerford said.

Darnell Keeton, a 21-year-old Las Vegas man, was shot once in the ankle and allegedly returned fire. A 17-year-old male, whose involvement in the dispute is under investigation, was struck by the gunfire, Willerford said.

Additionally, a 15-year-old student suffered a gunshot wound to her leg. Willerford said she had been walking home and was an innocent bystander.

"We are still in the process of determining the circumstances surrounding the incident, the motive and each person's involvement," Willerford said in a news release.

All the victims were taken to local hospitals for treatment, according to Willerford.
