A 51-year-old participant of Infineon Raceway's West Coast Moto Jam event in Sonoma County died after crashing with two other bikes in the first lap of the race Saturday, a spokesman said Sunday.

Augustine Alves, of Hanford, was involved in three-bike crash on the first lap of the 500 Support main event on the quarter-mile flat track Saturday afternoon, spokesman John Cardinale said.

Alves was airlifted to Santa Rosa Memorial Hospital, where he was pronounced dead early this morning, according to Cardinale.
