If you already have an HD TV, an HD camcorder may be the next step to give your videos that big screen quality.
"Nowadays everyone has the big screen HD TVs at home and you're capturing all this footage of your life with your camcorder. You don't want to lose the quality when you're going and looking at it at your big screen TV," said Stacy Genovese of Good Housekeeping.
Good Housekeeping tested 70 entry level camcorders.
"The Samsung camcorder was the overall winner in our tests. It has a really comfortable handle, vibrant colors even when we took nighttime video and intuitive controls," said Genovese.
The Panasonic HMXH 100 gets high marks for its ability to focus on a subject quickly.
"A third camcorder that rated well here at the Good Housekeeping Research Institute is the JVC Everio. This one has a 20 times optical zoon which is great for zooming in on tight shots and it's at a really reasonable price," said Genovese.
With these recommendations your family memories will look great in the viewfinder and on the big screen at home.
