Resolution in SF to ignore immigration enforcement

Five San Francisco supervisors will unveil a new resolution urging local police agencies not to take part in a new federal immigration enforcement program called Secure Communities.

The program requires police to run information on anyone arrested for any crime, through a federal immigration database.

The program is set to begin next month in San Francisco, which police say would effectively gut San Francisco's Sanctuary City policy.
