The report, commissioned by the university, says the campus contributes more than $6 billion to the local economy.
Officials say the assessment illustrates the rapid growth they have seen in recent years.
"In the last eight years, the economic impact of UCSF has grown from $1.8 billion to $6.2 billion in estimated economic impact, with 39,000 jobs in the Bay Area," UCSF Chancellor Susan Desmond said.
A major part of the university's growth is due the expansion of its Mission Bay research center, which opened earlier this decade.
The report claims UCSF has helped spawn more than 60 companies.
