Redwood City cancels fireworks show

For the first time in more than a decade, there won't be any fireworks at this year's Fourth of July celebration in Redwood City.

Organizers say the fireworks show has become too expensive when you add up the cost of materials transport and liability insurance.

The non-profit that hosts the event has increased its budget by more than half, over the past five years, but it's still not enough to cover the more than $50,000 price tag.
