Many people enjoyed the sunny skies at San Francisco's annual Juneteenth Festival Sunday.

Music filled the air in Civic Center Plaza as folks celebrated African-American culture. Juneteenth marks the end of slavery in the United States on June 19, 1865, or two years after President Lincoln signed the Emancipation Proclamation.

The slaves in Texas were not freed until after the Civil War ended when the Union Army enforced the president's order.
