It appears San Francisco will not have any other U.S. competition when Oracle CEO Larry Ellison and his racing team choose the site for the next America's Cup sailing race.

The "San Francisco Chronicle" reports Ellison's BMW Oracle racing team will announce on today that the city by the bay is the only U.S. city under consideration for the next cup race in 2013 or 2014.

Other contenders include Valencia, Spain, which hosted the last America's Cup, and a yet to be determined site in Italy.

In February, Ellison's team became the first American team in 18 years to win the coveted cup.
