A 32-year-old co-defendant who took a plea deal in the robbery of former NFL player Javon Walker has been sentenced to three to eight years in Nevada state prison.

Arfat Abdo Fadel said nothing as he stood in shackles Wednesday before a Las Vegas judge. Before trial, Fadel pleaded guilty to conspiracy, kidnapping and robbery.

His lawyer later called the sentence fair.

The judge on July 7 sentenced 42-year-old repeat felon Deshawn Lamont Thomas to life in prison without parole as a habitual criminal for his role in the robbery. A jury convicted him in April of luring a drunken Walker into a car at a Las Vegas Strip hotel in June 2008 and robbing him of money, casino chips and expensive jewelry.

Thomas' lawyer promises to appeal.
