San Mateo supervisors voted down sales tax measure

San Mateo County supervisors voted on Tuesday not to put a measure on the ballot this fall to increase the county sales tax.

It would have raised $30 million a year, but the idea went down in defeat on a 3-2 vote in favor of the ballot measure. It needed a four-vote super majority to pass.
