A spokesman at Rady Children's Hospital says the survivors include 11-year-old Summer Crane, 10-year-old Tia Crane and 8-year-old Austin Crane. Their father, Gregory B. Crane, of Mesa, Ariz., was also in critical condition Tuesday.
Authorities say he took off from Montgomery Field on Monday afternoon but radioed he was returning because of an open door on the Velocity XL-RG5. The plane crashed on a golf course.
The dead woman's father, Earl Orner, tells KFMB-TV in San Diego that the crash killed Lori Crane, the pilot's wife. However, authorities haven't released her name.
