San Francisco public schools raise the bar

SAN FRANCISCO

District officials have toughened graduation requirements, in order to make all grads eligible for university of California schools.

The class of 2014 will now have to complete two years of foreign language, instead of one -- and three years of college preparatory math, instead of two.

Currently, half of San Francisco public school graduates already meet these new requirements.
