Vallejo police searching for 2 murder suspects

VALLEJO, CA

Active leads that the department has been following this week indicate the primary suspect in the murder of Saint Nick Stanley, who was found dead in a vehicle last Sunday, is Alfonso Arthur Mestas Jr., 37, of Vallejo. A warrant has been issued for his arrest on suspicion of murder, police said.

Mestas' girlfriend, 22-year-old Jessica Gonzales, is also wanted as an accessory to the murder of Stanley. The pair is not in custody and police believe they may be together.

Police found Stanley, 38, on Aug. 8 just before 3 p.m. when they responded to a call about a man bleeding in a parked truck in the parking lot of the Deluxe Inn located at 2070 Solano Ave. in Vallejo.

Stanley's body was in the driver's seat of the running vehicle when police arrived. He had been shot once and was pronounced dead at the scene. An autopsy the following day confirmed that the gunshot was the cause of death, police said.

Police consider Mestas to be armed and dangerous. He sometimes uses the moniker "Capone," which is tattooed on his right arm, police said. If they are located, police insist people not attempt to contact the suspects, but instead call 911 immediately.

Anyone with any information regarding the case is encouraged to contact Detective John Whitney or Detective Ted Postolaki of the Vallejo Police Investigations Division at (707) 651-7105 or (800) 488-9383.
