Witnesses called police after they noticed the suspect driving erratically down Foothill Boulevard. After ramming into one home, the driver backed his vehicle into a patrol car before driving into another house.
Officers fired after the suspect tried to make a run for it. He was finally arrested at a gas station nearby.
"This is a quiet, quiet neighborhood. Residents typically live here are long-term residents," said Lt. Larry Vargas. "So, it's rare that we get calls down here."
The two officers involved in the shooting have been placed on routine leave while an investigation into the incident takes place.
