Wine grape harvest begins in Sonoma

SONOMA, CA

Growers at the Robert Hunter Winery in Sonoma are starting their harvest for just the Pinot Noir variety about two weeks later than usual. The cool weather until today has led to a below average crop size.

Hunter Farm's vineyard manager says he's never seen a summer like this in Sonoma County.

"It makes you kind of tear you hair a little bit. But there's nothing you can do about the weather. So you got to learn to roll with the punches," he said.

Despite the smaller crop size, Hunter Farms says all signs point to a good year in terms of wine quality.
