Brush fire disrupts traffic near I-680 in Fairfield

The CHP issued a Sig-alert for southbound I-680 near Gold Hill Road due to smoke from a grass fire impeding traffic.

The California Highway Patrol has issued a Sig-alert this evening for southbound traffic on Interstate Highway 680 near Gold Hill Road in Fairfield because smoke from a grass fire was impeding traffic.

Southbound and northbound traffic was diverted off Gold Hill Road but allowed to re-enter Highway 680 on Gold Hill Road.

The fire burned right under the overpass, CHP Officer Jonathan Short said. The fire was reported around 4:50 p.m.
