Stimulus funding used to improve SFO runways

SAN FRANCISCO INTERNATIONAL AIRPORT, CA

Federal and local officials Friday celebrated the completion of a runway improvement project.

More than $14.5 million went into leveling and repaving two runways and two taxiways. The money for the project came from last year's American Recovery and Reinvestment Act.

This is just the first of several projects financed by stimulus dollars at the three Bay Area airports. Another $22 million in upgrades are planned in the coming months and years.
