Oakland firefighters are investigating a one-alarm structure fire that broke out early this morning because it is the second time in less than 24 hours that crews extinguished a blaze at the same apartment complex, a fire dispatcher said.

The fire was reported at about 2:55 a.m. at an apartment building at 5936 Martin Luther King Jr. Way, which is near 60th Street, the dispatcher said.

Crews responded quickly, she said, and contained the blaze by 3:05 a.m.

Wednesday afternoon firefighters tended to a fire at the same address. That one-alarm fire was reported at 1 p.m. and brought under control by 3:57 p.m., the dispatcher said.

No one was injured in this morning's blaze, but the cause of the fire remains under investigation.
