Triumphant Giants return to heroes' welcome

SAN FRANCISCO

They arrived at AT&T Park just just before 5 p.m. after a cross country flight back from Philadelphia where the team won the National League Championship and a berth in the World Series.

Hundreds of fans braved the rain to wait at the ball park to greet the team. Buster Posey, Madison Bumgarner, Matt Cain, Freddy Sanchez and Juan Uribe all came out to greet the fans personally.

Since Saturday night's victory, Giants fans have continued to celebrate the National League champs and the celebration was nowhere near over on Sunday evening.

"It's the greatest thing to happen in this city in a long, long time," said Andy Wernett.

As fans waited for the team's buses to roll in, others crowded into the Giants store at the park, buying piles of memorabilia and spending lots of money for the privilege.
