Friends say the 45-year-old returned from a trip to Buenos Aires, Argentina with her mother on Friday. Her body was found in her second floor Russian hill apartment on Saturday morning.
"In this neighborhood it's not something that's typical, as far as investigating homicides go. So it is rare, but it can happen," SFPD Officer Albie Esparza said.
No one has been arrested and investigators won't say how Horan died.
