Smashed glass leads police to burglary suspect

SOUTH SAN FRANCISCO

Officers responded to a burglar alarm sounding in the 1000 block of Mission Road at about 4:30 a.m. and found the front glass door of an office building smashed with a brick.

A search of the building yielded Jorge Romero, who was inside the building with his backpack and sleeping bag, police said.

Officers determined Romero has no connection to the business and arrested him.

Police said Romero admitted to having entered the building to steal electronics.

Romero was booked into San Mateo County Jail for commercial burglary.
