The "Sidewalks are for People Coalition" organized the demonstrations including one on Castro Street. Voters passed Prop I last month, which bans sitting or lying down on sidewalks between 7 a.m. and 111 p.m.
Opponents of the law have hired a legal team to fight it.
"We think that a majority of San Franciscans, once they see this law is enforced in a discriminatory way, they will recognize that it is unfair and they will be with us, and being relieved once it is repealed in the courts," Andy Blue said.
Many neighborhood and merchant groups pushed for the passage of the sit-lie law. They believe it gives police another tool to fight panhandling and loitering.
