Muni to work out labor issues after new year

San Francisco Muni operators and the city's transit bosses will sit down after the new year to hammer out several labor dispute issues.

The workers' union and city officials plan to meet behind closed doors twice next month to discuss contract negotiations. The current contract expires in June.

This marks the first time the two sides will negotiate since voters passed Measure G in November.

The new law gives management more leverage in setting working conditions while eliminating automatic raises for Muni employees.
