In Palo Alto, city council members have decided to look into sharing services with three neighboring cities to cut costs.The city manager will now meet with officials in Mountain View, Los Altos and Sunnyvale to gauge their interest.
Arson investigation, fire prevention, emergency planning and record keeping are among the services that could be merged.
The cities already share animal services, solid waste facilities and SWAT teams.
