While "The King's Speech" continues to march toward best picture and best actors awards, "The Social Network" has been the inspiration for big changes. With hosts James Franco and Anne Hathaway, the Oscars are reaching out to a new generation.
"They're twittering and using Facebook, connecting with younger viewers in a way that's never been done before," In Touch spokesperson Amy Palmer said. "What better way than to reach out to young people through social networking."
On Facebook, there is an app that lets users vote for best picture using the same rank-choice system the Academy uses.
