San Jose looks to clamp down on pot dispensaries

SAN JOSE, Calif.

The San Jose Mercury News is reporting that San Jose Mayor Chuck Reed and three other council members want to cut down the number of pot clubs and restrict where they can operate. Currently there are 110 pot clubs in the city and they are hoping to trim the number to 10.

"Personally, I'm ready to decide -- I'm ready to decide today," the mayor said at the meeting. "This is hearing number eight for me on this."

Even the pot club owners at the meeting agreed that there needs to be more control, but they don't think 10 is enough to serve San Jose. They also questioned how the city is going to decide which 10 get to stay open.

Another meeting will be held on April 12.
