They are especially concerned it could get worse as the new round of storms roll into the area this week.
A team from the California Conservation Corp and some local farmers covered the levee with a plastic tarp, then piled up sand bags to hold it down in place.
If the levee fails, flood waters could damage as many as 100 homes and buildings.
