Moms who breastfeed face some unfavorable stereotypes, according to a study from Montana State University. Researchers found people hold lower opinions of women who breastfeed.

In one test, subjects deemed women who appear in ads endorsing a breast cream as less capable in the workplace. In another test, subjects rated actress Brooke Shields as friendlier but less competent when they were told she breast-fed her children.

Researchers say a woman is perceived as less intelligent when she is seen as a tool for someone else, even her own baby.
