Fifth grader Christian Suarez and fourth grader Nayelli Cuiriz-Galzan are among the winners of a nationwide poetry slam contest.
It was sponsored by the Bay Area Chapter of America SCORES. It empowers students in urban communities, by combining soccer, creative writing, and community service.
