Pedro Hernandez, 68, pleaded guilty to one count of continued sexual abuse of a child.
The case broke last year when he was caught on a surveillance camera assaulting the child in a stairwell at the San Francisco elementary school she attended. The girl was 8 years old at the time.
Neither the victim nor her family was present for the sentencing.
