The Gale Ranch Middle School science team defeated 40 other schools to win the Department of Energy's National Science Bowl Competition. It culminated in a Round-Robin, Jeopardy-style contest with the Gale Ranch kids defeating a team from Vancouver, Washington.
"It was definitely a lot harder than we thought because there were a lot of good teams from all over the nation, so to win was a real challenge," said Rishi Krishnan.
The $1,000 prize goes to Gale Ranch's science department.
