Some local artists are doing their part to help victims of the Japan earthquake and tsunami.

Tuesday, the Sharon Art Studio presented a check for $23,000 to the American Red Cross. The studio raised the money by selling tea bowls and other Japanese-inspired art at an April fundraiser.

The Sharon Art Studio is part of the San Francisco Recreation and Parks Department; it offers art classes for anyone age five or older.
