Thursday, Speier plans to offer an amendment to the homeland security appropriations bill requiring the uniforms to be American made. They're currently manufactured in Mexico. Speier says taxpayer dollars should be spent creating jobs in the U.S., not Mexico. She also claims it's dangerous for a U.S. security agency to have its uniforms made in a foreign country.
